Services

Plastering and dry lining in North Shields and North Tyneside

Boarding, skimming, repairs, finishes ready for decoration.

What it is

Understanding plastering and dry lining

Preservation work opens walls up, so the finish matters as much as the treatment. We replaster with the correct salt resistant system after damp proofing, dry line where insulation or a warmer surface is wanted, and leave walls ready to decorate.

  • A fresh render coat on the lower walls following damp proof course work
  • Skimmed walls drying around a window after replastering

What you might notice

Signs that bring people to us

  • Plaster blown or hollow sounding after damp
  • Patch repairs left by earlier work
  • Cold internal wall surfaces
  • Walls needing a proper finish before decorating

How it works

A proper finish, step by step

The right system on the right background, left clean and ready to decorate.

  1. 01

    Assess the walls

We check the background, any earlier repairs and whether damp treatment is needed before plastering starts.

  2. 02

    Preparation

Loose and blown plaster is removed, rooms are dust sheeted and surfaces are prepared for the new system.

  3. 03

    Boarding and skimming

Salt resistant replastering after damp proofing, or dry lining and insulated boards where a warmer surface is wanted, then skimmed flat.

  4. 04

    Tidy handover

Beads, corners and reveals are made good, the room is tidied daily and left ready for decoration once dry.
