Mould and condensation control in North Shields and North Tyneside

Fungicidal treatment, positive input ventilation, humidity control.

What it is

Understanding mould and condensation control

Black mould grows where warm, moist air meets a cold surface. That is condensation, not rising damp, and treating the wall alone will not stop it returning. We treat the mould, then deal with the moisture and ventilation so the conditions it needs are no longer there.

  • A positive input ventilation unit fitted to a hallway ceiling to control condensation
  • A replastered wall around a window with dust sheets protecting the floor

How it works

Treating mould so it stays gone

Wiping mould off never works for long. We deal with the growth and the conditions causing it.

  1. 01

    Humidity and surface checks

We take humidity and surface temperature readings to confirm the mould is condensation driven and find the cold spots feeding it.

  2. 02

    Fungicidal treatment

Affected surfaces are treated with a fungicidal wash that kills the growth and the spores left in the plaster.

  3. 03

    Ventilation improvements

Positive input ventilation, extract fans or trickle vents are fitted where needed so moist air is removed before it condenses.

  4. 04

    Advice and follow-up

You get plain advice on heating and daily moisture, so the conditions mould needs do not come back.
